. Craig B. Stanford is Professor of Biological Sciences and Anthropology and Co-Director of the Jane Goodall Research Center at the University of Southern CaliforniaOutstanding graphs, analogies ,coupled with an eazy to understand vennacular. Reading this book I was please to relate to so many town names and how their locations featured in the Interstate or Long Distance routes of so many Greyhound Services. Then of course there was the photos or part photos of various era Greyhond coaches; a real thrill for a bus buff.Very pleasant light reading.. Lighter weight works better with most of the exercises and you won't have the endurance to finish if too heavy. Most of that time was spent using Microstation software which is the other drafting software most widely used besides Autocad, at least at last check. I have been enjoying reading this book about old roses.. I lost this book years ago, unbeknownst to me, we had a large balance owed at the local library so for a few bucks the library accepted it for a replacement and wiped out our debt of over $70. Not as swashbuckling as the Three Musketeers. The references are all up to date, providing eazy access to "cutting-edge" researchers. The author has gone through so much in her life and it is amazing how she has come to a place of gratitude. Large numbers and dates.. I absolutely loved this book.. More like a dictionary for functions on the program. A big drawback with PowerPrep is that it uses the questions from a paper test, and just levers them into the CAT format. Great bookCraig Stanford details how human predation has overcome these evolutionary advantages, extinguishing several species and threatening the remaining forty-five. They are also safeguarded by their extreme longevity and long period of fertility. Tortoises may be the first family of higher animals to become extinct in the coming decades. He addresses unique survival problems, from genetic issues to the costs and benefits of different reproductive strategies. Like many intractable environmental problems, extinction is not manifest destiny. Though the picture Stanford draws is bleak, he offers reason for hope in the face of seemingly inevitable tragedy. At the center of this beautifully written work is Stanford’s own research in the Mascarene and Galapagos Islands, where the plight of giant tortoise populations illustrates the threat faced by all tortoises. The Last Tortoise offers an introduction to these remarkable animals and the extraordinary adaptations that have allowed them to successfully populate a diverse range of habitats—from deserts to islands to tropical forests. They are losing the survival race because of what distinguishes them, in particular their slow, steady pace of life and reproduction. Focusing on tortoise nurseries and breeding facilities,
