What's not common is the amount of challenges, prejudices and misconceptions that the author had to overcome to have what we might take for granted in terms of being accepted in various communities and groups. I never played an instrument, so I was a complete novice and this book, along with the companion book "21 songs in 6 days" helped me get started and get better. You as the reader can adjust and adapt the workouts to meet your needs.
